We are looking for a Staff Cloud Engineer with a strong engineering background to design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions for video workflows. This role focuses on automation, security, cost optimization, and operational excellence while helping to define and advocate cloud programming standards. Leveraging deep expertise in AWS and GCP, this engineer supports modern cloud applications and hybrid broadcast environments used in daily operations and large-scale global events. The role also acts as a technical thought leader, working closely with customers, internal teams, and partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cloud solutions on AWS and GCP, including networking, security, storage, compute, and authentication infrastructure for internal customers and cloud tooling
- Serve as a project execution leader by estimating effort, breaking down work into tasks, and mentoring junior engineers using strong programming best practices
- Collaborate with architecture leaders to plan and design cloud solutions that address diverse business needs while managing risks related to security, networking, authentication/authorization, and account structures in cloud-only and hybrid environments
- Communicate, challenge, and validate cloud architectures with engineering teams, adapting designs as business needs or technical constraints evolve
- Automate cloud deployments and infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Terragrunt, Python, and Ansible
- Ensure cloud security across account management, access controls, firewalls, and threat detection
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within cloud infrastructure and applications
- Monitor cloud environments for performance and cost, identifying bottlenecks, optimizing resource usage, and creating dashboards and alerting mechanisms
- Perform post-incident analysis to identify root causes and potential solutions
- Provide thought leadership on industry trends and infrastructure-as-code best practices
- Build proofs of concept (POCs) to validate design patterns and technical approaches
- Propose cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service level agreements
- Participate in architecture reviews, project kickoffs, and post-mortems
- Remain adaptable to evolving business requirements, processes, and tools
Â
Core Requirements
- Deep understanding of AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including security, networking, IAM, authentication protocols, account management, and application services
- Proven experience solving capacity challenges using containerization and/or serverless architectures with a focus on high availability and resiliency
- Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity, including services such as Direct Connect and/or AWS Outposts
- Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture models (centralized vs. distributed systems)
- Mastery of AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to analyze systems with a high degree of detail and impact awareness
- Hands-on experience with at least two programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C++)
