Kake is building a pipeline of Android Video Engineers for upcoming opportunities with our partners, including teams working on live streaming, playback technology, video delivery, and media platform experiences.

We’re looking to connect with experienced Android engineers who have worked deeply with video playback, player frameworks, and streaming performance in production environments. This includes hands-on work with technologies such as ExoPlayer, adaptive streaming, playback troubleshooting, latency reduction, and player optimization for live or large-scale media experiences.

What we typically look for
Strong programming expertise in Kotlin and Java.
Proven hands-on experience with ExoPlayer, including customization and performance optimization.
Solid understanding of streaming protocols such as DASH and HLS.
Experience troubleshooting playback issues such as buffering, latency, rebuffering, and player performance.
Familiarity with adaptive bitrate streaming workflows and dynamic manifests such as MPD and M3U8.
Experience working with player frameworks, SDKs, or video delivery components on Android.
Strong problem-solving skills in complex playback and streaming environments.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on performance, reliability, and scalability.

Experience with ad integrations such as IMA, DAI, or SSAI
Experience with QoE / analytics tools such as Conviva, Mux, or Hydrolix
Previous work in broadcasting, OTT, or large-scale media environments
Experience with Android TV or casting-related features
Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flows
Familiarity with Jetpack Compose where relevant to player-facing Android applications
