Apply for the Senior Frontend (Shopify) Engineer
We are seeking a highly experienced Frontend Engineer to help build the technical foundation for a next-generation healthcare platform. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, where you will define the frontend architecture, establish development best practices, and build polished, high-quality customer-facing web applications. The ideal candidate has deep frontend engineering expertise, experience designing responsive, high-performance web experiences, and a strong background in e-commerce or modern frontend frameworks. This role is best suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and enjoys building digital patient experiences that will support future product growth, conversion optimization, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the overall frontend architecture for a modern healthcare platform.
- Lead the design and implementation of marketing websites, landing pages, customer-facing web applications, and commerce experiences.
- Establish frontend engineering best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and frontend performance optimization (Core Web Vitals).
- Design and build headless Shopify experiences and custom commerce implementations using modern frameworks.
- Integrate frontend experiences with backend services, third-party platforms, external APIs, and modern headless CMSs (Sanity, Contentful, etc.).
- Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to translate design and product requirements into polished, production-ready user experiences.
- Provide technical leadership in frontend development while remaining deeply involved in hands-on implementation.
Core Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience building high-quality marketing websites, landing pages, customer-facing web applications, and commerce experiences.
- Experience working with Shopify storefronts, custom commerce implementations, and modern e-commerce platforms.
- Strong knowledge of modern frontend development using JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Next.js.
- Experience integrating frontend experiences with backend services, third-party platforms, and external APIs.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, SEO, and frontend performance optimization (Core Web Vitals).
- Experience translating design and product requirements into polished, production-ready user experiences.
- Familiarity with headless CMSs and modern content management workflows (Sanity, Contentful etc).
- Comfortable working independently in fast-moving, ambiguous environments while collaborating across product, design, and engineering teams.
- Experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity.
Nice to Have
- Experience with healthcare or HIPAA-aware web applications.
- Experience with Shopify Liquid, Shopify APIs, Functions, or Checkout Extensibility.
- Experience building headless Shopify experiences using React or Next.js.
- Experience working with modern monorepos (Nx or Turborepo).
- Experience optimizing SEO, conversion, and analytics for customer-facing websites.
- Familiarity with A/B testing, experimentation, and personalization.
