Apply for the Senior Backend Software Engineer (.Net)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-paced team building high-quality software solutions for a leading organization in the media industry. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform product requirements into scalable, reliable applications while following modern engineering best practices. The ideal candidate is a self-driven engineer with deep expertise in C#, .NET Core, AWS, and modern backend development, along with hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code. This is an initial 9–12 month contract with strong potential for extension based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain high-quality software systems using C# and .NET Core.
Translate product requirements and user stories into clean, maintainable, production-ready code.
Participate in team meetings to understand product direction, feature requests, and technical priorities.
Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure application reliability and quality.
Partner with QA engineers to validate features, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects.
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and engineering best practices.
Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
Collaborate with teammates to identify and remove technical blockers.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and engineering standards.

Core Requirements

7+ years of professional experience developing applications with C#.
4+ years of experience developing applications with .NET Core.
Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs.
Experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL/non-relational database.
Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
Strong expertise with AWS cloud services.
Experience working with Docker.
Knowledge of or experience with Kafka.
Solid experience using AI development tools, with Claude Code required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across distributed teams.

Nice-to-Have

Experience working for or supporting a large media company.
Experience contributing to large-scale, high-traffic distributed systems.
