Apply for the Senior Backend Software Engineer (.Net)
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-paced team building high-quality software solutions for a leading organization in the media industry. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform product requirements into scalable, reliable applications while following modern engineering best practices. The ideal candidate is a self-driven engineer with deep expertise in C#, .NET Core, AWS, and modern backend development, along with hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code. This is an initial 9–12 month contract with strong potential for extension based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality software systems using C# and .NET Core.
- Translate product requirements and user stories into clean, maintainable, production-ready code.
- Participate in team meetings to understand product direction, feature requests, and technical priorities.
- Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure application reliability and quality.
- Partner with QA engineers to validate features, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and engineering best practices.
- Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
- Collaborate with teammates to identify and remove technical blockers.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and engineering standards.
Core Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience developing applications with C#.
- 4+ years of experience developing applications with .NET Core.
- Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience with MongoDB or another NoSQL/non-relational database.
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
- Strong expertise with AWS cloud services.
- Experience working with Docker.
- Knowledge of or experience with Kafka.
- Solid experience using AI development tools, with Claude Code required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across distributed teams.
